selection of the best Belarusian football kits

Football is cancelled. And, like you, we’re sorely missing it.

Due to the COVID19 pandemic, pretty much every professional (and amateur) league on the planet has been forced to postpone its season indefinitely. There’s not a scrap of football in England, Spain, Italy, or Germany, while huge clubs across the rest of the globe have been rightfully forced to close their doors for the time being.

Things are a little different over in Belarus. Against all logical reason, the Belarusian Premier League (or Vysheyshaya Liga) is carrying on through this worldwide crisis. As the rest of Europe imposes strict social distancing measures, the likes of Dynamo Brest and BATE Borisov are still welcoming crowds to their respective grounds.

Despite the sheer lunacy of the situation, this remains the only place to watch live football in Europe. Millions of people across the continent are now following this obscure competition, cheering on teams they’ve never heard of before and satisfying their football-starved appetites.

Well, I guess there’s only one thing we can do in a situation like this. I’ve taken a look at the best Belarusian Premier League kits of 2020, since there’s not really much else for us to talk about right now...

10. Gorodeya - Away

Made by kit manufacturer Macron, FC Gorodeya’s new away kit is simple but pleasing on the eyes. The shirt features two shades of green, one forest green and the other a lighter shade of green. While the sleeves are lighter green, the torso is forest green with horizontal lighter green stripes which grow larger as they work their way down the shirt.

9. Slavia Mozyr - Home

Made by kit manufacturer Joma, FC Slavia Mozyr’s new home kit is one of the more interesting shirts in the league. The sleeves of the shirt are jet black and the torso is a bright red, with the top half of the torso featuring an almost diagonal black sash. A dash of red appears above the sash near the neckline, and small diagonal black stripes run below it.

8. Neman Grodno - Home

Made by kit manufacturer Saller, FC Neman Grodno’s new home kit is spectacular. The kit is mainly mustard yellow, with the torso of the shirt featuring thick solid green diagonal stripes. To top it off the collar and sleeve cuffs are solid green as well, a nice touch.

7. Dynamo Brest - Away

Also made by kit manufacturer Joma, FC Dynamo Brest’s new away kit is straight buttery. The shirt is a mouthwatering teal colour, eerily reminiscent of Italian club Inter Milan’s away kit last season. The collar and sleeve cuffs are a regal deep blue colour.

6. Smolevichi - Home

Kit manufacturer Joma makes it a hat trick here on the list with FC Smolevichi’s new home kit. The torso of the kit is a vibrant red, which fades slowly into a charcoal gray on the edges of the shirt. The sleeves and collar of the shirt are also charcoal gray, with the sleeve cuffs vibrant red.

5. Dinamo Minsk - Away

Made by kit manufacturer Saller, both of FC Dinamo Minsk’s new kits are phenomenal. Their new away kit, which is mainly white, features the outline of the club’s crest emanating from it and repeatedly overlaid in a light blue pattern fading the further away it gets from the crest. The sleeves are a solid white, while the sleeve cuffs are a royal blue and the collar is half blue half white.

4. Dinamo Minsk - Home

If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it. FC Dinamo Minsk’s new home kit is dark blue featuring the outline of the club’s crest emanating from it and repeatedly overlaid in a baby blue pattern fading the further away it gets from the crest. The sleeves are also dark blue, while the sleeve cuffs are white and the collar is half white half blue.

3. Energetik BGU Minsk - Home

Made by kit manufacturer Nike, FC Energetik BGU Minsk’s new home kit is eye popping. The kit is mainly burnt orange, with deep blue pencil thin horizontal stripes beginning at the top of the torso and getting marginally larger as they work their way down the shirt. Meanwhile burnt orange pencil thin horizontal stripes start at the bottom of the torso and work their way up the shirt, meeting and switching in the middle.

2. Rukh Brest - Away

Made by kit manufacturer Errea, both of FC Rukh Brest’s kits this year are absolute bangers. Their new away kit, which is gray, features some sort of dope emblem in a repeating pattern on the top third of the torso. The sleeves are black on the sides of the shirt and grey on the top of the shirt, with Errea’s logo imposed repeatedly over the grey running up to the collar.

1. Rukh Brest - Home

FC Rukh Brest’s home kit is the cream of the crop. The shirt is a dark teal color, with a watermark of the dope emblem on the bottom half of the torso. There’s also a cool looking pin art pattern on the top half and bottom half of the torso, leaving the middle of the shirt solid dark teal. The sleeves are also teal, with Errea’s logo imposed repeatedly running up to the collar.
